Tropical Smoothie Cafe Nutrition Calculator
What the cafe publishes for its best-known smoothies, and what the same flavors cost when you blend them yourself.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe publishes calories, sugar and protein for every smoothie it sells, and the picker below pulls up any of the ones on our list. Rebuild the same flavors in your own blender and our versions land between 166 and 469 calories, depending on the base you start with and whether you sweeten it.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe publishes nutrition for everything it sells, so a calculator here is really a lookup: pick the drink, read the row. The menu picker below does exactly that, using figures the cafe publishes itself. If you want to cost out a version you blend yourself instead, the smoothie calorie calculator handles that.
What is worth knowing before you look is that the tropical fruit blends are not the light end of the board. Mango, pineapple and fruit juice are the sweetest things in the walk-in, and the cafe's own guide says its smoothies are made with turbinado sugar on top of that unless you ask otherwise.
That is the shape of this menu. The green detox blend sits at one end, the peanut butter one sits at the other, and most of what lies between is fruit, juice and sweetener poured into the single cup size the cafe serves. The table shows where each drink falls.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe nutrition, as the cafe publishes it
Figures are for the 24 oz cup, which the nutrition guide gives as the serving for the whole smoothie menu. Every drink here is made with turbinado sugar except the Detox Island Green, which the guide singles out as carrying only the sugars already present in its fruit and vegetables.
Building it yourself comes in 24 calories under the menu version. The one the guide flags as made without added turbinado sugar.
The same flavors, blended at home
Our own builds, one serving each, summed from per-100 g values in the Smoothie Calculator ingredient database. These are our recipes, not the cafe's, and they show what the flavor costs once you pick the base and the sweetener yourself.
Why the cafe versions land where they do
The cafe's guide states that its smoothies are made with turbinado sugar unless you request otherwise, with one exception on our table. That is sweetener stirred into fruit that is already sweet, and it is the single biggest lever you have at the counter.
Fruit juice blends smoother and tastes brighter than water, which is why it carries most fruit smoothies. It also brings sugar of its own before a single scoop of anything else goes in. Change the base and the flavor barely shifts, but the row on the nutrition table moves a long way.
Tropical fruit is the whole brand, and it is also the sweetest fruit on the board. Set the unsweetened green one aside, and every mango or pineapple blend in our table carries more sugar than the blueberry one. The drink whose name sounds like a health food is rarely the light pick.
There is no small. The nutrition guide gives a single serving size for the entire smoothie menu, so the figures you read are the figures you get. At most chains you can trade down a size to bring the number down. Here the only lever is what goes into the cup.
Fruit and juice bring almost nothing in the way of protein, which is why that column stays flat across most of the menu. The one drink here that breaks the pattern has peanut butter and a protein scoop in it, and it also sits at the heavy end of the table.
How to order it lighter, or rebuild it at home
This is the move regulars use. Order the smoothie made without turbinado sugar and the fruit still does the work. The cafe lists a sweetener substitute as the other route. Neither one makes the drink sugar-free, and the guide says so plainly.
One drink in our table is made without added turbinado by default, and it is also the lightest thing on the list. If you want the tropical flavor without the sweetener on top, that is the row to order from.
The base is the cheapest change you can make. Frozen mango and pineapple blend thick on their own, so the juice is doing flavor work that a little fresh ginger covers. Our lighter build starts with unsweetened almond milk and does not miss it.
Greek yogurt, a scoop of whey or pea protein is what turns a fruit blend into something that holds you until lunch. Work out what a scoop does to your own recipe with the protein powder smoothie calculator.
Build your own tropical blend
Set the base, the fruit and the sweetener, and watch the calories move before you switch the blender on.
